Dr. Randy Leavitt

Chiropractic Physician

Randy Leavitt, a native Oregonian and avid outdoors-man, has been practicing chiropractic medicine in Portland since 2002 after receiving his Doctorate of Chiropractic (Sum Cum Laude) from the University of Western States. Dr. Leavitt completed his undergraduate education in pre-med at Oregon State University.

After graduation, Leavitt started his own practice and held a position as the Chiropractic Sciences lead instructor at the University of Western States for 5 years. In addition to seeing patients, Dr. Leavitt served as the team chiropractor for ORSU, Portland’s premiere women’s rugby team.

Dr. Leavitt treats the whole body including sports related injuries to the extremities, motor vehicle, and personal injury claims. He has had an extensive postgraduate education which includes Graston TechniqueMyovison, which can be used to evaluate patient’s source of pain following at trauma.  Finally, he is certified with Spine Research Institute of  San Diego for the treatment and management of motor vehicle Whiplash Injuries.

Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Leavitt took the opportunity to travel halfway around the world. Always an athlete, Dr. Leavitt was introduced late to chiropractic care when he was in his early 20’s after “throwing his back out” while playing basketball. He had a 7-day backpacking trip planned and after 2 visits he was able to go on his trip, albeit with modest pain. A few years later Dr. Leavitt needed to seek chiropractic care 2 times a month when he owned and operated a landscape business. His success with chiropractic care to keep him working ultimately led to his decision to pursue a career in helping others through chiropractic medicine.

When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, young son and rescue dog Pepper. He also enjoys practicing yoga, fly fishing, camping and mountain biking.
